Hi there! We are the Ballard Family and we love affordable adventure family travel.
We are a family of four living in Carlsbad, California. We live a pretty normal life with jobs, full time school and sports. In our free time (which isn’t much) we like to take off and travel any and everywhere. Our primary focus is the South West and Pacific coast as it is easy for us to do in short adventures. However, a few times a year we go big and travel where ever we can affordably. It takes a lot of planning, points and our timeshare to make these adventures happen.
Our goal is to inspire families to see the world without breaking the bank. We know it’s not realistic for everyone to quit jobs and homeschool to travel full time because we don’t do that ourselves. Chase and Megan work and the girls love their school and friends. So, we want to help you plan trips that you can make happen while maintaining a home, a career, school and sports. We do the leg work to find the must see places, how to get there affordable, and share it here. If it’s not in your budget we share photos, videos and all the details so you can feel like you visited a destination with us. We want you to come along for the adventure.
