Aperol Spritz – Tips To Host Virtual Happy Hour
Hi Lovelies and happy Friday. One of my favorite cocktails these days is an Aperol Spritz. They are so light and refreshing and can be enjoyed for brunch or dinner. I have a little spin on the Aperol Spritz that I have been making at home. I thought in addition to sharing my favorite cocktail recipe we could talk about our current new way to socialize, virtual happy hour.
If you haven’t given this a go, it’s a great way to catch up with friends without having to leave your home. Let’s start with technology.
Technology
- Facetime – The easiest way to start a virtual happy hour is Facetime. All you need to do is create a group chat and then go to the info for the group and you can start a group Facetime call.
- Zoom – Zoom is currently taking over the world. With live classes being offered from fitness studios, and offices now using this app to host all of their meetings. We are currently becoming dependent on the Zoom app. The only downside is their free account only allows for a 40 minute call. They do give bonus time, but there is no guarantee.
- Facebook Messenger – Facebook Messenger is another way to host a social hour with friends. Similar to FaceTime you can start a messenger group and call from within the group.
Location
Find a place away from your family, that you can sit relax and really be able to catch up. We all know your husband is driving you crazy, but he doesn’t need to hear it. So, find a place that you can really focus on your friends and speak freely about what makes you happy.
Show Up Prepared
Bring your favorite drink with you and be prepared to refill your own cocktail. You don’t want to have to walk away in the middle of the conversation.
Virtual Happy Hour Activities
When everyone is in a different place it can be challenging with all of the videos streaming at the same time. So, having an activity planned can help keep the party going. Here are just a couple of ideas, that can help make the party more fun.
- Book Club
- Wine Tasting
- Wine Yoga
Aperol Spritz
Aperol Spritz
Ingredients
- 8 oz Prosecco
- 2 oz Aperol
- 2 oz Grapefruit Soda
- 8 oz Pamplemouse LaCroix
Instructions
-
Mix all ingredients in a red wine glass. Garnish with a grapefruit slice
You can always skip the grapefruit soda and just finish off with the LaCroix. But, I love the little extra grapefruit flavor that the soda has.
