12 Days of Christmas
Hi Lovelies. I love all the traditions our family has created for the holiday season. From the Elf on the Shelf, to the 12 Days of Christmas, we try to stick with some classics, while mixing in some new ones. There are so many great ways to make the holidays extra special. This 12 Day of Christmas is my favorite part. Watching my girls light up every morning when the walk down stairs to see what gift awaits them is my favorite part of the day. The hubs also loves his little treats he gets each day. It’s just a fun way to spread the cheer.
Day 1: Donate a Toy. We always start off the 12 Days of Christmas with giving. We donate a toy to Toy’s 4 Tots.
Day 2: Build a Gingerbread House. One of the favorites in this household. The girls even found a princess castle one year!
Day 3: Hot Cocoa & Polar Express. Our Polar Express is loading up in the car and going to see Christmas lights around the neighborhood.
Day 4: Sparkling Snow Play-doh. A fun craft to keep them busy. Recipe can be found here.
Day 5: Candy Cane Sleigh. A perfect sleigh made of candy canes, a Kit Kat bar, mini candy bars and a chocolate santa. You can find an example here.
Day 6: Decorate Stockings. We have the embroidered stockings, but I love snagging a Dollar Tree stocking and some puffy paint to let the girls go to town. They love it!
Day 7: Light Festival. We have an amazing light display in San Diego with Santa Claus and hot cocoa. It’s one of my favorite things to do.
Day 8: Rudolph Noses. We pick these up from Dollar Tree, they are just a box of red gummy candies. If you can’t find those, cherry sours or any red round candy will do.
Day 9: Something to read. This year, they will receive Charlie Brown Christmas.
Day 10: Popcorn and a movie. This year, it’s also Charlie Brown Christmas.
Day 11: Bake Cookies for Santa. We do sugar cookies and decorate them.
Day 12: Christmas Pajamas. This year, they are courtesy of Burt’s Bees Baby
Print these tags on card stock and you have perfect labels for all 12 of your gifts.
Day 1: You are one hot tamale. A box of Hot Tamales.
Day 2: Your own reindeer crew. A 6 pack of beer with pipe cleaners and eyes to make them look like reindeer.
Day 3: You are my greatest catch. A box of Swedish Fish
Day 4: Date Night. Obviously, this one falls in the 12 days wherever it’s convenient for you.
Day 5: Candy Cane Sleigh. A perfect sleigh made of candy canes, a Kit Kat bar, mini candy bars and a chocolate santa. You can find an example here.
Day 6: You are my sugar daddy. A Sugar Daddy candy.
Day 7: Movie Night. Stick with one of the classic Christmas movies, or maybe try something new!
Day 8: Broquet. This one is probably his favorite. And you can build to suit his wants/needs. You can find some examples here. When the holidays are over I will be sharing mine. This one has been a repeat for a few years now.
Day 9: Something to read. Book or magazine, whatever he prefers.
Day 10: You are my lifesaver. A box of lifesavers
Day 11: The truck you always wanted. A chocolate truck. If you can’t find one, a toy truck will do.
Day 12: Christmas Pajamas. This year, courtesy of Burt’s Bees Baby
Print these tags on card stock and you have perfect labels for all 12 of your gifts.
Spread a little extra holiday cheer for the special people in your life. Get your presents, December 13th is just around the corner!
Such a fun idea!
Thank you Shelly! It’s one of my faves. xo~ Megan
