LAFW
Hi Lovelies. I shared about my first day at LAFW last week and you can see it here. Today, I am giving you all things LAFW from a stylish mom’s point of view. I think Fashion Weeks can be intimidating for moms. Skinny, beautiful girls wearing clothes that always hang so perfectly on their tiny frames. The thing is, fashion week is a great place to see trends and find inspiration for your own wardrobe. I love seeing things on the runway and thinking about how I can wear it in my every day life. I know some of you are thinking, “but I can’t afford high fashion.” That’s okay. You can always find similar pieces in a fast fashion store and recreate these looks at home. It’s so fun to do. So, here is my take on all things LAFW.
There were so many talented designers at LAFW. Cecilia Echinique, Datari Austin, Ashton Michael (who dresses Beyonce), Marcelo Quadros, Liason by Aurelia Santoso, and Vicken Derderian. These were all my favorites, but I did miss a couple shows that I know some of the other bloggers loved, like Rinda Salmun. The event was held at the Hollywood Athletic Club, which was a great spot for LAFW. The shows were well orchestrated, there was a cash bar, a tanning area, and a place to get your nails done. My fave designers had collections with pieces that were perfect for the every day mom. Cecilia Echinique dressed me for the opening gala in a beautiful lace wrap dress. She is the cutest, and is a mom herself. So, of course I had to wear her collection. Everything fit beautifully and the designs were perfect for a woman’s body shape with a wrap style that allow you to adjust to your body. Datari and Ashton collections were a bit more edgy and the pieces could easily take you into a date night or a concert. Marcelo Quadros had gorgeous bathing suits that would be flattering for all of us mommas. Liaison and Vicken had great every day pieces from pants to tops. I loved their collections and definitely would recommend wearing some of their pieces.
I had such a great time and built friendships with some of the LAFW staff and other ambassadors. It was definitely a weekend for the record books and I am so glad that I was able to be a part of their ambassador program this season. I look forward to upcoming seasons with LAFW.
