Military Jacket: The Weekly Style Edit

Happy Thursday.  This week for The Weekly Style Edit, Lindsay and I are sharing our favorite Military jackets.  I have to admit, I was not looking forward to this week.  This jacket has been in my closet forever and I just really didn’t care to wear it.  I styled a similar jacket awhile back and really didn’t think I had another way to wear it. LOL.  For me a military jacket is just something I throw over jeans and t-shirt to make it look more put together.  Thanks to Lindsay though, I had to come up with another way.

So, this time I around I paired it with black denim and a more edgy pair of boots.  I have become very picky about my outfit posts and really only like to share things that I feel like are a little more unique and not something you would see from every other blogger.  It definitely gets tricky which has brought me to a new idea.  I want to take every day items like this military jacket that we all have and really try to create new and exciting looks.

I had an olive military jacket for a few years and rarely wore it – I finally got rid of it and added a blush colored cargo jacket this year. I’m hoping it cools off and I get to wear it soon. I do still have a peplum style olive jacket that I love to wear but there was just something about that olive military jacket I just didn’t care for. They look great over everything really and definitely pull together a denim and tee shirt look. Those booties of yours are my favorite!

Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyla Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyland and just wishing we could get a reservation to see the new Toontown
SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? M SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? Mission ⛪
Last week we visited our 3rd mission. This is taking it back to @oldmissionsb which we loved. My daughter was obsessed with learning about Karana from “Island of the Blue Dolphin” If your child is in 4th grade take them to check out a few missions. It’s a part of their curriculum and they can learn so much from the way the Spanish operated here in SoCal in the late 1700’s-1800’s. Of course not every detail of this settlement was positive, but it’s a great opportunity to have discussions and educate your children about the indigenous people and the Spanish settlers.
AND don’t forget 4th graders can get the national parks pass with Every Kid Outdoors. Link in stories.
