Top Summer Spots in San Diego
We always love checking out our local spots in San Diego when we aren’t traveling. So, we wanted to share our favorite spots to spend summer days. These are some of the Top Summer Spots In San Diego that are a little off the main stream locations like the zoo and wild animal park.
Cabrillo National Monument
Megan has lived in San Diego her whole life except the quick 4 years we spent on the east coast and never made it to this monument. Cabrillo National Monument is well worth a visit this summer. The views of San Diego, the hike to the tide pools it’s a pretty cool spot. Pack a lunch and enjoy the views. Quick tip check the tides and make sure you are visiting at low tide if possible.
Sunny Jim’s Pirate Cave
This is a cool spot that you can match up with lunch at one of the main cool spots in La Jolla. There are a ton of options within walking distance. You can also head over and see the sea lions at the beach. La Jolla is just a great spot to adventure in San Diego.
Beach
How do you come to San Diego and not check out the beach? Check out our favorites in North County over on Instagram HERE. There are also several great spots closer to downtown San Diego that include Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and don’t forget Coronado. San Diego is known for it’s great beaches, so maybe even check out more than one.
Seaport Village
Seaport Village is a great spot right in the heart of downtown San Diego. Easily accessible by the coaster from any North County destination. Take in the views of the harbor, enjoy lunch at Malibu Farms or one of the other many spots. You can also walk along the coast and catch a nice boat tour of the harbor if you want. They also have a concert series called Wonderfront over summer. Lots of things to do and see in Seaport Village.
Happy Hour at the Deck in Del Mar
The last top summer spots in San Diego is the deck at Del Mar Plaza. This is a new spot to us that we have only visited during the day, but we can’t wait to hit up this summer. Happy Hours vary by restaurant but range from 3-6pm. They have a great outdoor space with a pingpong table, corn hole and fire pits. It has excellent views of Del Mar beach. It’s a perfect spot for sunset cocktail.
