10 Tips To Stay Healthy During The Holidays

Hi Lovelies.  November is coming to an end and I can’t believe it.  With holidays here I thought this would be a great time to share 10 easy tips to stay healthy during the holidays.  We all get busy and our holiday commitments and plans take us away from our healthy routine.  These tips will help you stay healthy and on track during the busy holiday season.

10 Tips To Stay Healthy During The Holidays

The Fashionista momma shares 10 tips to stay healthy during the holidays.

Park Far Away

This is so easy.  When you go shopping just take the first spot you see.  You don’t need to be right up front.  Take the extra steps and park towards the back of the lot.  Every little bit helps.

Drink Lots Of Water

Keep water with you and make sure you drink lots of water through out the day.  Before you sit down to eat drink a full glass of water.  This will help you avoid dehydration and help you eat fewer calories.

Eat A Salad

Stay healthy during the holidays by just adding a salad to your plan.  Before you head to a party that is going to have a ton of snacks and treats, eat a salad.  This will fill you up with good nutrient rich food.

Eat Breakfast

Your busy schedule can send you into a frenzy.  Next thing you know it’s 3pm and you haven’t had anything to eat.  Make sure that you get breakfast in.  A nice solid meal, like oatmeal or avocado toast.

Avoid Sugary Drinks

Avoid the eggnog and the rum, dairy filled drinks.  Try to stick to clear alcohol, or red wine.  Vodka and soda with a squeeze of lime, champagne, or red wine.  Of course the Sangria and chocolate martinis sound tasty, but you will end up with a headache and a belly filled with too many calories.

Schedule Your Workouts

Put your workouts into your calendar to help you stay healthy during the holidays.  Write them down so you feel obligated to make the time.  Just that gentle reminder in your calendar to workout could be all that you need to get to the gym.

Sign Up For A Fitness Challenge

I just signed up for a fitness challenge with Studio Sweat On Demand and I am so excited.  It’s nothing too crazy just 12 workouts over the next few weeks.  It’s just a little added motivation to get my workouts in.

Get Support

If the above two aren’t options for you get support.  Ask a friend to join you in your efforts to stay healthy.  Then you have someone else to help you stay accountable.  You can work together and keep each other on track.

Meditate

Make time to chill.  The holidays should be fun and not stress filled.  Take a few minutes day to meditate.  Quiet your mind and just relax.

Get Sleep

Be sure to get enough sleep.  The change of seasons, the cold weather and the busy schedule makes you more prone to getting sick.  Help boost your immune system by getting enough sleep. These easy tips to stay healthy will help you survive the holiday season.

What are your tips to staying active and healthy for the holiday season?

Have you been to Ensenada? What’s your favorite spots? We had a great time on our Ensenada excursion on our Carnival cruise. Including rain, pina coladas, La Bufadora and wine tasting at Santa Tomas winery. If you are in SoCal I recommend making your own way across the border to Ensenada.
