My Half Marathon Experience

Happy Friday ya’ll.  Today, I just want to share my half marathon experience.  Let me just say, I love to run, but I was really nervous to do a race.  I don’t really like running in crowds and running is my time to clear my mind.  So, doing a big race just seemed like it wasn’t going to be my thing.  I am on my fourth and longest race now and honestly, I love it.  If you have never run or walked a race, YOU SHOULD.  The feeling of accomplishment when you cross that finish line is like nothing else.  I can’t help but, look at my medal and smile.  I just ran 13.1 miles.  I ran the whole way and never gave up.  Believe me it was tough, there were times I wanted to give up but, I didn’t.  I kept going.  I finished in 2 hours 11 minutes, averaging a 10 minute mile.  Guess what?  Now, I feel like I can do anything.  It has given me a new sense of determination.  I don’t know if I am ready for a full marathon just yet, but I have bigger and better goals set for everything in my life.  I want to take a moment to thank everyone that helped me accomplish this, my husband, my girls, my running friends, and Adulttutus.com for the perfect tutu for my diva race.

Ready to run
Ready. Set. Go.
Headed to the finish
Just crossed the finish
If you want to take on a race, I have linked up some great training programs for any distance.
4 weeks to run 1 mile – This is a simple chart to run for 10 minutes
Couch to 5K – There is even an app for this one.
Run a 10K – You will need to sign up to Fitness.com to download schedules
Run 10 miles – This can be used to train for a 15K
Half Marathon – This is very similar to my training program.
Full Marathon – Hal Higdon has half marathon information as well.
Extra Race Day Tips from Chic Runner.
I want each and every one of you to set a fitness goal today.  Maybe it’s to run one mile, maybe it’s a 5K, or maybe you are feeling brave and want to take on a full marathon.  Whatever it is leave a comment with your new fitness goal and let’s all support each other to reach these new goals.  Happy Fitness Friday Lovelies.

Good for you girl!! Wrdhat an accomplishment. I hate to run, I only do it when I absolutely have to. Otherwise I stick to other types of cardio and strength training.

Happy Birthday @chase.ballard we are truly blessed Happy Birthday @chase.ballard we are truly blessed to have you in our lives. You work countless hours driving to and from LA and then come home to coach, and do the countless honey-dos I have. We couldn’t do life without you.

Have you been to Ensenada? What’s your favorite spots? We had a great time on our Ensenada excursion on our Carnival cruise. Including rain, pina coladas, La Bufadora and wine tasting at Santa Tomas winery. If you are in SoCal I recommend making your own way across the border to Ensenada.
