My Half Marathon Experience

Spread the love

Happy Friday ya’ll.  Today, I just want to share my half marathon experience.  Let me just say, I love to run, but I was really nervous to do a race.  I don’t really like running in crowds and running is my time to clear my mind.  So, doing a big race just seemed like it wasn’t going to be my thing.  I am on my fourth and longest race now and honestly, I love it.  If you have never run or walked a race, YOU SHOULD.  The feeling of accomplishment when you cross that finish line is like nothing else.  I can’t help but, look at my medal and smile.  I just ran 13.1 miles.  I ran the whole way and never gave up.  Believe me it was tough, there were times I wanted to give up but, I didn’t.  I kept going.  I finished in 2 hours 11 minutes, averaging a 10 minute mile.  Guess what?  Now, I feel like I can do anything.  It has given me a new sense of determination.  I don’t know if I am ready for a full marathon just yet, but I have bigger and better goals set for everything in my life.  I want to take a moment to thank everyone that helped me accomplish this, my husband, my girls, my running friends, and Adulttutus.com for the perfect tutu for my diva race.
