5 Reasons To Avoid Black Friday

Spread the love

Hi Lovelies!  So, I had a post titled Black Friday Sales, and I was all about writing it.  Then I sat down to put it together and the reality is, I DON’T shop Black Friday.  Yeah,  I said it.  I have only done a Black Friday once and it was for IPad’s for my girls. The only way you are getting me to fight a crowd and deal with the chaos is if I am saving a crap ton of money.  I know, what kind of fashion blogger am I?  Well, the reality is I shop all year long.  I don’t buy a bunch of stuff at one time, so Black Friday just isn’t for me.  Don’t get me wrong, I am all about saving money, but I just can’t shop on Thanksgiving evening at 6pm.  Now, of course when the time comes that my girls need a computer, I’m all in standing in line to save a couple hundred dollars.  So, instead of sharing my black friday sales to shop, I’m sharing 5 reasons to avoid Black Friday.

5 reasons you should avoid Black Friday.

Avoid The Stress

Black Friday is down right chaotic.  The one time we took part, we stood in line outside of Target for thirty minutes and then inside the store for over an hour.  That’s crazy.

You Will Probably Spend More Money

We have all seen the memes.  I’m not shopping ever again…. Oh a sale. I’m totally victim to it.  I see a sale sign at Banana Republic and I have to go in.  Reality is, Banana is always having a sale. LOL.  I buy a whole bunch of stuff I don’t need, but I feel good about it because I saved money.  Yes, you may walk out with more stuff for less, but was it something you really needed?

 Nice Weather

I know there are those places in the US that don’t have beautiful weather in November, but for most of us, November is gorgeous out.  You have a four day weekend, and you are going shopping?  Go outside and get some fresh air.  Especially if you live in a place that in a few months will be getting loads of snow and you won’t want to go outside.

Decorate For The Holidays

This has always been a tradition in my house.  For as long as I can remember my dad started decorating the day after Thanksgiving.  This is such a great opportunity to spend quality time with your family and decorate your house.

Shop Local

Most of your big Black Friday sales are big retailers.  Instead of shopping big businesses, support local shops.  If one of your local shops is having a sale on Friday by all means shop away.  You can avoid the crowds, save and support your local businesses.

  1. Great post! I love how transparent you are. I am pretty much done with my Christmas shopping, and deals don’t really motivate me because I’d rather buy what I want than get something just because it’s on sale. I’m going to #optoutside this BF. Hope you have a happy thanksgiving!

  2. I love this post. A lot of the times sales get so much hype only to be let down. Plus with online shopping it’s easier access to items that are not going to be available at the store. It’s much more fun to view the screen with my family than to go to the mall by myself and get stressed out by the crowd. LOL I hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday and long weekend!
