DIY Juice Cleanse

Hi Lovelies.  I have had this DIY juice cleanse post on the calendar for so long and kept having to move it back because my schedule just wasn’t open to me having time to make the juices.  I finally found the time to go on this DIY juice cleanse.  It’s such a great way to start the summer.  I’m sharing my recipes and tips for your own DIY Juice Cleanse cleanse.

THE ULTIMATE DIY JUICE CLEANSE

Spiced Lemonade

The perfect way to start your day is with warm water, lemon juice and cayenne pepper.  I simply fill a small tumbler with warm water squeeze half a lemon, add a pinch of cayenne pepper and agave nectar or maple syrup to taste.

Apple Cider Vinegar

This is another great way to start your day.  You can take it in a shot with warm water and drink.  I typically take this and follow up with my warm lemon water.

Avoid Toxins

Avoid things like caffeine, alcohol and well duh solids.  Not that solids are toxins.  But, a three day DIY juice cleanse is best if followed through for all three days.  You might get hangry.  I mean, I got really hangry. LOL.  Keep yourself busy and just make sure you are drinking lots of juice.

Do it the right way

I love this article from Juicing for Health discussing how to detox.  Be sure you take care of you.  Avoid high intensity exercises.  Do yoga and relax.  Give your body the opportunity to cleanse and heal.

These recipes will make about 20-24 oz of juice each.  It just depends on what juicer you have.  This is enough for me for the whole 3 days with all of the other drinks I consume.  For some, you may need to double this or juice twice.  Finally, be mindful of what kind of juicer you have.  If you have a centrifugal juicer, I recommend juicing every day to keep the juice fresh.  If you have a masticating juicer you can juice at the start and seal in mason jars to keep fresh.  Juice made from a masticating juicer can typically last up to 72 hours.

Golden Mylk

This recipe is courtesy of my thai yoga and adjustment teacher Fall.  It’s so flipping good you guys.  You will just want to drink it every night.  It’s so good for you.  Clears mucus, helps with inflammation, and has overall cleansing benefits.

Skin Brushing

Finally, your skin is your biggest organ and detoxing part of your body.  Your sweat, and other toxins are eliminated via this organ.  Skin Brushing is a great way to help with eliminating toxins.  Use a dry brush made with natural fibers and dedicate at least 3-5 minutes a day.  Always brush towards your heart.  Once you have finished shower and use an organic quality oil or lotion and apply to skin.
