Outdoor Table Decor

Hi Lovelies.  Barbecue season is upon us.  This weekend in San Diego marks the start of many days spent outside in the sunshine barbecuing.  So today, I am sharing a little outdoor table decor with this fun look from Target.  If you are new to The Fashionista Momma, you may not know that I am obsessed with tablescapes and hosting parties.  I will take any reason to decorate my house and throw a themed party.

Today, I am sharing a little barbecue we had with family.  It was a small group, so it wasn’t too much work.  You could easily recreate this with a larger party and multiple tables.  It was really easy to create and I threw it together in one day.  I hit up my local Target and picked up all the decor.

How cute are these plastic wine glasses?  I had to share a close up of each one for you.

The candles you see are just citronella candles to keep the bugs away.  I didn’t share any photos of the food because my family gets impatient with me and my food photos.  It was an easy day with a cheese and veggie platter.  Finished off with a good ol’ american BBQ hamburgers and veggie burgers.

Although this is the “official” start of summer, let’s not forget what this weekend is really about. While we spend time with loved ones, some families spend it with an empty seat at the table. Thank you to all of the brave men and women that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our safety and freedom. I will forever be grateful. Have a great weekend and Happy Memorial Day.

Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyla Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyland and just wishing we could get a reservation to see the new Toontown
SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? M SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? Mission ⛪
Last week we visited our 3rd mission. This is taking it back to @oldmissionsb which we loved. My daughter was obsessed with learning about Karana from “Island of the Blue Dolphin” If your child is in 4th grade take them to check out a few missions. It’s a part of their curriculum and they can learn so much from the way the Spanish operated here in SoCal in the late 1700’s-1800’s. Of course not every detail of this settlement was positive, but it’s a great opportunity to have discussions and educate your children about the indigenous people and the Spanish settlers.
AND don’t forget 4th graders can get the national parks pass with Every Kid Outdoors. Link in stories.
