Saving Summer in Stripes

Hi Lovelies. As I send my girls to school and begin to pack my house for our big move, I can’t help but look back on this past summer and realize I’m not totally ready to leave the east coast.  There were so many things I wanted us to do before we made the trek back west.  This weekend, the family and I went and bought our new car to make the journey home.  We did some shopping and explored this perfect park by our house. As I walked through it, with all the beautiful flowers and the phone booth, I can’t help but wish we would have made it across the Atlantic to Europe.  We have talked about going before we moved, but we thought we had so much more time here.  Then Proflowers sent me this beautiful Lavish Roses bouquet that just inspired my European dream summer vacation even more.  Making me wish that summer wouldn’t end, that we wouldn’t have to move home just yet.  As I pack away my Eiffel Tower picture and my European wall art, I just wish I had one chance to throw my kids on a plane and make a quick trip to Europe, specifically Paris.  That would be Saving Summer in our house.

Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyla Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyland and just wishing we could get a reservation to see the new Toontown
SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? M SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? Mission ⛪
Last week we visited our 3rd mission. This is taking it back to @oldmissionsb which we loved. My daughter was obsessed with learning about Karana from “Island of the Blue Dolphin” If your child is in 4th grade take them to check out a few missions. It’s a part of their curriculum and they can learn so much from the way the Spanish operated here in SoCal in the late 1700’s-1800’s. Of course not every detail of this settlement was positive, but it’s a great opportunity to have discussions and educate your children about the indigenous people and the Spanish settlers.
AND don’t forget 4th graders can get the national parks pass with Every Kid Outdoors. Link in stories.
