September Trend Alert

Hi Lovelies.  I hope you all are enjoying this short week.  Most of the kids have headed back to school and it is starting to quiet down.  Personally, I have one that has headed back and another one that will be on her way next week.  With the start of September off and going, we are talking September Trend Alert.  I scoured all my magazine’s and this is the collection of my favorite trends you must try this fall.

Cape

The classic sophisticated cape.  A perfect fall and winter cover up.  You can go with a knit or a stunning jacket.  This is a great take on the traditional coat.  I don’t know about you, but I am really excited about capes.  I already picked one up over summer and while I was browsing the magazines, I found a cape that can also transform to a coat at Nordstrom Rack. I may have to make a quick trip to find it.  A cape can be paired with almost anything.  It will simply replace your normal coat.  Pair it with leggings and over the knee boots, a perfect salute to east coast style.

Lace

A delicate fabric that can add a feminine touch to your fall wardrobe.  I tend to  like lace in neutral colors, but if you are feeling brave you can go with a bold color, like this dress.  Lace in my wardrobe is black, white, cream or a pale pink.  I am not too adventurous when it comes to lace.  I like the fabric itself to be the statement, not so much the color.  Try pairing it with leather for a bold, edgy statement.  You can also wear it with pencil skirt or a fit and flare.  Or a shirt with lace shorts, tights and ankle boots.  I like to keep lace on my top because I tend to snag skirts and ruin them.  If your life is a little more giving, go for a skirt paired with a chambray top.

Colored Leather & Suede

This is the one I am most excited about.  Rebecca Minkoff and Jill Stuart had gorgeous pieces in their fall collections.  Make a statement with a suede skirt, ankle boots or a jacket.  A perfect suede ankle boot paired with dark denim and a contrasting color on top.  A perfect day outfit, that can easily transition to evening with a swap of accessories.  A colored leather skirt, paired with a neutral top and a clutch is a perfect girls night outfit.
