Hi Lovelies. I’m getting back to my roots of wardrobe styling with covering the basic body shapes, since my last post on this topic is still very popular. Starting off the summer season with shorts for a pear. I will be sharing shorts for every basic body shape over the next few weeks. So, if you aren’t a pear don’t worry. I will be sharing the perfect shorts for every body type. Here are the key tips to look for when shopping for a pear shape.
BASIC BODY SHAPES: THE BEST SHORTS FOR A PEAR
Shorts without Cuff
Avoid a cuff or too much destroyed denim. Make sure that fit properly around your thighs. For some this means picking shorts that are too big around the waist. Have your shorts tailored. Invest in a few quality pair of shorts that are classics. Take the waist in. The biggest mistake a pear can make is buying pants that are too tight around the hips and thighs. You will be uncomfortable and it is drawing attention to this area in a negative way.
Shorts in Solid Colors
Try to avoid a busy print, and embroidery. You always want to keep things simple on the bottom half of the body. Using your prints and patterns to draw the eye up.
Shorts with Clean Lines
Avoid stitching that is in a different color. Visible buttons and other things that will draw attention to your hips. Keep everything clean and simple. Fringe, lightly destroyed denim are all ok. You just don’t want something to over the top.
Check Your Shorts Length
Finally, the length. You don’t want your shorts to be too long or too short. Finding the perfect length is key. Try to find shorts that fall mid-thigh or at least below the widest point of your thigh.
