Must Have Sweaters

Spread the love

Cheers to Monday and the start of another beautiful week.  Today, I am talking about all the Must Have Sweaters.  Now, if you didn’t know I am not a fan of cardigans.  You could almost say I hate them.  I own one “cardigan” and it would take a lot for me to buy another one.  I don’t even really consider the one I own a cardigan…  Anyway, I digress, today we are talking the three sweater trends you need in your closet for fall.  If you couldn’t tell one of them will not be a cardigan. LOL.

Balloon Sleeve

The balloon sleeve is the oh so popular sweater right now.  With a fitted body to show off your curves and a fun balloon detail it makes for a great top layer.  You can pair it over a collared top or wear it on its own.  The one thing this trend is not the best for is layering under jackets. The sleeves don’t always fit and it can feel a bit uncomfortable.  If you are wanting to layer make sure your sleeve is a bit on the smaller side.

Turtleneck

Turtlenecks are back my friends.  You can see them in the good old ribbed style we all remember.  They are also coming in fun prints and even with the bubble sleeves.  A traditional turtle neck is perfect to pair under a blazer or another top.  They also look great with a pair of overalls or the tie waisted pants that are really on trend this season.  If you are pairing your turtleneck with a baggy bottom make sure it is fitted and allows you to still show off your figure.  You can also find the oversized turtlenecks that are so cozy and comfortable.  These pair will with skinny jeans or pair of trousers.  You can see this look I styled here.

Pattern

Stripes and animal prints are all the rage for your fall and holiday sweaters.  Find a pattern that fits your sense of style.  It doesn’t have to be too extreme.  There are a ton of choices.  You can always pair your patterned sweater with a pleated skirt or keep it casual with a pair of jeans.  You can see my striped sweater styled here.
