Velvet Kimono

Hi Lovelies!  I’m back.  After a little break and focusing on building Live Plentiful, I have decided that a little piece of my heart will always be right here with The Fashionista Momma.  So, I’m back sharing outfits and styling all of my favorite pieces.  My first outfit is what I wore to opening day for Bing Crosby at Del Mar with this velvet kimono and jeans.

A kimono is a great way to style a pair of jeans.  It will also pair well over shorts or a dress.  Velvet is a big trend this year. You can find almost any accessory or clothing item made in this luxurious fabric.  It’s definitely a trend you will want to add to your wardrobe.  You can see some other great ways to incorporate this trends over on Live Plentiful.

I had to wear this kimono to the Bing Crosby opening day at Del Mar.  I wanted to be sure I was rocking my wardrobe to the race that also hosted a fashion show.  My style has to be on point right?  The event was so much fun, we bet on the races and enjoyed a quiet day at the track.

Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyla Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyland and just wishing we could get a reservation to see the new Toontown
SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? M SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? Mission ⛪
Last week we visited our 3rd mission. This is taking it back to @oldmissionsb which we loved. My daughter was obsessed with learning about Karana from “Island of the Blue Dolphin” If your child is in 4th grade take them to check out a few missions. It’s a part of their curriculum and they can learn so much from the way the Spanish operated here in SoCal in the late 1700’s-1800’s. Of course not every detail of this settlement was positive, but it’s a great opportunity to have discussions and educate your children about the indigenous people and the Spanish settlers.
AND don’t forget 4th graders can get the national parks pass with Every Kid Outdoors. Link in stories.
