When you call San Diego home, you hear all about Opening Day at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. The big hats, the parties and all the fun. We were invited to attend Opening Day and enjoy all the excitement. Opening Day is a great way to spend time with your girlfriends, or spouse. Take a limo down, get clubhouse seats, tickets to the party and enjoy a day at the races. From music and people watching Del Mar Racetrack nails it every year.

Check out the calendar to keep up with all the fun events they have happening this year. You can enjoy family weekends, donut day (7/29), and all of the Friday night concert series. If you are lucky enough to attend the Del Mar Throughbred Club races be sure to get there early. You can also use Uber, they have a great setup for pickup and drop off. I highly recommend this option to save yourself from the parking situation and freeway off ramps.
It does get warm at the track. Enjoy the races in club seating to avoid the mass crowds. You also have general seating or the party area. The party area will give you music, bar areas and betting stations. You may not have the best view of the track, but you can definitely have a great time. Walk around, enjoy the style, make it to the paddock to see the horses and watch the races from the big screen. Be sure to place your bets early and have a great old time.
