Beauty Tuesday: Tips For Flawless Foundation

Happy Tuesday.  This week we are going to discuss flawless foundation.  I am obsessed with the no foundation, natural look and I must say I do get a lot of compliments on my foundation.  I thought why not share my tricks with all of you.
1.  Make sure you are using the right foundation color and formula for your skin type.  This is key.  Have your color matched by a professional.  Make sure you are clear on how much coverage you want, and what skin type you have.  The more information you give the easier it is for them to provide you with a product you will love.  I use MAC ‘Studio Fix’ Fluid Foundation.  It’s a medium to full coverage matte finish foundation.  It may not be the best foundation for you so, check with a MAC makeup artist first!
2.  Prep your skin.  Clean your face, use moisturizer and follow with a primer.  This will help your makeup last all day. I love MAC ‘Prep + Prime’ Skin Base and Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Primer and their new Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water.

3.  If your foundation is full coverage you can give it a little added glow.  Sheer out your foundation with a moisturizer.  I love MAC Strobe Cream.  It has iridescent particles that add light reflection and a dewy finish.  You can also sheer out your foundation with a regular moisturizer.

4.  Set your foundation with a powder.  I love sheer powders that are lightweight with little coverage.  Apply only in the places you need it.  Typically nose, forehead and chin but, if you tend to get oily on your cheeks you can add powder there as well.

5.  Finish your look with MAC ‘Prep + Prime’ Fix+ Finishing Mist.  I know I am sharing MAC products again but, I seriously love this stuff!! It’s a perfect finishing spray.

This is more of the their full coverage but you may still love it. They have a couple great lightweight foundations like face and body. Check that one out too. 🙂

WOW! I took your advice, since I’m not 20 yrs. old anymore, getting color matched by a professional and properly prepping your skin before applying foundation makes a world of difference.

Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyla Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyland and just wishing we could get a reservation to see the new Toontown
SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? M SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? Mission ⛪
Last week we visited our 3rd mission. This is taking it back to @oldmissionsb which we loved. My daughter was obsessed with learning about Karana from “Island of the Blue Dolphin” If your child is in 4th grade take them to check out a few missions. It’s a part of their curriculum and they can learn so much from the way the Spanish operated here in SoCal in the late 1700’s-1800’s. Of course not every detail of this settlement was positive, but it’s a great opportunity to have discussions and educate your children about the indigenous people and the Spanish settlers.
AND don’t forget 4th graders can get the national parks pass with Every Kid Outdoors. Link in stories.
