The Best San Diego Summer Activities For Families

Hi Lovelies.  Happy Monday, we have one full week of summer break under our belt. I’m finally ready to get our butts up and out.  We took a good week to just chill and recover from school.  This summer, we are going to enjoy all of the fun that is right here in our home town.  Today, I’m sharing San Diego Summer Activities for families.

6 SAN DIEGO SUMMER ACTIVITIES TO DO WITH YOUR FAMILY

LeucadiART Walk

We haven’t been to this art walk, but there are so many throughout San Diego County.  So, you have lots of options.  I’m sure we will check out a few of them, because our girls love art!

Ride The Coaster

We love a good day to ride the coaster to Seaport Village and The Headquarters.  So many cute shops and great places to eat.  The kids love riding the train and checking out all the shops, and it isn’t a day until you get your Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream and ride the carousel in Seaport Village.

Tidepools

La Jolla tidepools are another great spot to spend a day.  The sea lions are on the shore and if you watch the tides, and head down at low tide you can see all the critters.  You can also make a whole day of it and get lunch in La Jolla, or go to the Scripps Aquarium.

Movies In The Park

Movies in the Park are all over San Diego.  One of our favorite spots is Park 101 in Carlsbad.  They have great drinks and the food is so good.  Added bonus, there are games for the kids and they get cotton candy with their kids meal.

Ruby’s on the Pier

Head to Oceanside Pier walkout to the end to eat at Ruby’s.  This is one of my favorite memories from when the girls were little.  I can’t wait to head back there again.  Go on a sunny day close to sunset and enjoy the views and cool breezes.

Hike

There are so many great hiking spots in San Diego Annie’s Canyon, Potato Chip Rock, Torrey Pines, and Calaveras.  We love getting out and enjoying all the beauty that SD has to offer.  Be sure to check the activity level to make sure your kids can make the hike.

What about you? What are your favorite San Diego summer activities that you love to do? Share them in a comment below, we’d love to try them on our next visit!

Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyla Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyland and just wishing we could get a reservation to see the new Toontown
SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? M SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? Mission ⛪
Last week we visited our 3rd mission. This is taking it back to @oldmissionsb which we loved. My daughter was obsessed with learning about Karana from “Island of the Blue Dolphin” If your child is in 4th grade take them to check out a few missions. It’s a part of their curriculum and they can learn so much from the way the Spanish operated here in SoCal in the late 1700’s-1800’s. Of course not every detail of this settlement was positive, but it’s a great opportunity to have discussions and educate your children about the indigenous people and the Spanish settlers.
AND don’t forget 4th graders can get the national parks pass with Every Kid Outdoors. Link in stories.
