Nail Polish Tricks

Hi Lovelies, I missed all of you this past week, but it was much needed.  Last week a family member went into the hospital and was very ill.  I had to plan a last minute trip home to California.  We were very unprepared.  Basically we traveled for the same amount of time as we were in California.  Crazy.  However, there was a silver lining in this trip.  I was able to see my first nephew graduate high school and we took a family trip to Disneyland.  The girls were such troopers and I owed it to them to have a little fun in between hospital visits and family time.  I am so happy to say that my family member (who I was told was dying) is going home tomorrow and will hopefully see results from the treatment they have prescribed.  All I can say, is God can work miracles.  I want to leave you with one little piece of advice, hug and love those close to you because you may not have the chance to tomorrow.  Life is too short.

So, let’s get back to blogging shall we?  For my first post back, I want to talk Nail Polish Tricks.  I just found every busy mom’s dream nail polish.  It’s two products that will last for at least 8 days!!  Yes, I said 8 days.  This is my second time painting my nails with this perfect combo.  Here is the secret, a wipe down with alcohol, Julep Color and Essie Gel Setter Coat.  I have tried the Julep polish with and without the Gel topcoat.  The Julep lasts 3 days by itself.  I added this fantastic Essie gel coat and it lasted over a week.  Even with all the hand washing, cooking and cleaning I do.  I have died and gone to nail polish heaven.  I’m excited to try the Julep Freedom Polymer Top Coat which is another great option to keep your nail polish going strong.  Keep an eye out on my Instagram for my thoughts on the Polymer.

I recently signed up for the Julep Maven Box.  I’m sure you have seen it mentioned around on other blogs.  The Maven box allows you to receive a subscription box once month filled with nail polish.  If you want to check out the Maven boxes you can get a 4 piece gift set with the code below.

Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyla Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyland and just wishing we could get a reservation to see the new Toontown
SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? M SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? Mission ⛪
Last week we visited our 3rd mission. This is taking it back to @oldmissionsb which we loved. My daughter was obsessed with learning about Karana from “Island of the Blue Dolphin” If your child is in 4th grade take them to check out a few missions. It’s a part of their curriculum and they can learn so much from the way the Spanish operated here in SoCal in the late 1700’s-1800’s. Of course not every detail of this settlement was positive, but it’s a great opportunity to have discussions and educate your children about the indigenous people and the Spanish settlers.
AND don’t forget 4th graders can get the national parks pass with Every Kid Outdoors. Link in stories.
