New Year, New Me
Happy New Year Lovelies.  Life is back on track after a long holiday break with travel and lots of family fun.  I am so excited to start 2016 off with a new year, new me attitude.  My goal is to really focus on growing my blog and making lots of new blogger friends.  This year, I have decided to switch up Style Saturday.  The new and improved link-up will be on Fridays with Style It Friday.  I found that a Saturday post was a bit of challenge for me.  I really want to be able to step away from blogging on the weekend’s to focus on my family.  So, I said good-bye to a Saturday link-up and hello to Friday. Â
In addition to a change in the link-up I will be contributing to Daily Mom and Examiner regularly. Â So, keep an eye out for more informative posts and fun style tips. Â Also, if you didn’t notice I have switched up a few other things on the menu. Â The Fashionista Momma will still focus on style and beauty, but every once in awhile I will be throwing in my favorite recipe, workout or travel tips. Â I feel that being a stylish mom doesn’t end with our wardrobe. Â It’s the way we live our lives. Â If you have any questions or requests for posts please don’t hesitate to throw it out there.
To kick off 2016, I have been discussing New Year’s Resolutions. Â We all make them right? Â From weight loss to giving up soda. Â This year my resolutions are big. Â I feel that I have taken blogging semi-serious and not really done what it takes to turn this into a real business. Â I am burnt out, I feel like I am working really hard without seeing the benefits. Â In reality, I only work when I feel like it. Â That’s not going to get me where I want to be. Â That’s hard to swallow and hard to admit. Â What’s crazy, is I think most of us do this on a daily basis. Â We expect so much more than we are willing to give in all aspects of our life, from relationships to our diets. Â We say we will go the extra mile, but we only make it half way. Â So, I urge you this year whatever your resolutions are, give 110% and don’t give up when the newness has worn off and you set back into your old routine. Â Really strive to be the best version of you until December 31, 2016.
Yesterday I posted my 5 tips to keep your resolutions, that you can find here.  In following my own tips I want to share my resolutions with you.  This will help me stay accountable.
New Year, New Me
- Â Get to 5,000 followers on Instagram.
- Write 3 blog posts a week for the entire year.
- Double my page views.
- Lose 25 pounds because that’s how much I gained in 2015 (yikes!). Â I will do this by going to the gym 3 days a week and running at least twice a week.
- Run 2 half marathons. Â One is already in the works for February.
- Focus on eating a 90%Â vegan diet.
- Spend more quality time with my girls.
- Spend less time on my phone doing pointless crap.
- Go to church twice a month.
- Be more patient with my children.
I have found that a lot of these cross over. Â If I strive to work a little bit on each one then all areas of my life will come together. Â If I focus on eating healthy and running more, I will be more patient. Â Being more patient keeps me off my phone, which in turn allows me to focus more on the important things like my girls and my blog. Â The last two years were amazing, but extremely stressful and I just need to find the happy healthy me again. Â It has to be done now or I fear I will be stuck in this place forever. Â I would love to hear your New Years resolutions and lets work together to stick to them.
Great list! It’s a struggle for me balancing my “real” job with blogging because my blog is much more fun! I think you have set some great goals. And why am I not following you on IG yet??!! Duh
I don’t know Shelly! I followed you back right away. Blogging is way more fun. 🙂 Happy New Year. xo~ Megan
Happy New Year, Megan! Lots of great changes!! Loving that you changed your link-up to Friday. That’s definitely easier for me to join! You’ve set a lot of great goals for yourself this year. I’m making growing my Instagram a priority this year, too!
