New Year, New Me

Spread the love

Happy New Year Lovelies.  Life is back on track after a long holiday break with travel and lots of family fun.  I am so excited to start 2016 off with a new year, new me attitude.   My goal is to really focus on growing my blog and making lots of new blogger friends.  This year, I have decided to switch up Style Saturday.  The new and improved link-up will be on Fridays with Style It Friday.  I found that a Saturday post was a bit of challenge for me.  I really want to be able to step away from blogging on the weekend’s to focus on my family.  So, I said good-bye to a Saturday link-up and hello to Friday.

In addition to a change in the link-up I will be contributing to Daily Mom and Examiner regularly.  So, keep an eye out for more informative posts and fun style tips.  Also, if you didn’t notice I have switched up a few other things on the menu.  The Fashionista Momma will still focus on style and beauty, but every once in awhile I will be throwing in my favorite recipe, workout or travel tips.   I feel that being a stylish mom doesn’t end with our wardrobe.  It’s the way we live our lives.  If you have any questions or requests for posts please don’t hesitate to throw it out there.

2016

To kick off 2016, I have been discussing New Year’s Resolutions.  We all make them right?  From weight loss to giving up soda.  This year my resolutions are big.  I feel that I have taken blogging semi-serious and not really done what it takes to turn this into a real business.  I am burnt out, I feel like I am working really hard without seeing the benefits.  In reality, I only work when I feel like it.  That’s not going to get me where I want to be.  That’s hard to swallow and hard to admit.  What’s crazy, is I think most of us do this on a daily basis.  We expect so much more than we are willing to give in all aspects of our life, from relationships to our diets.  We say we will go the extra mile, but we only make it half way.  So, I urge you this year whatever your resolutions are, give 110% and don’t give up when the newness has worn off and you set back into your old routine.  Really strive to be the best version of you until December 31, 2016.
Yesterday I posted my 5 tips to keep your resolutions, that you can find here.  In following my own tips I want to share my resolutions with you.  This will help me stay accountable.

New Year, New Me

  1.  Get to 5,000 followers on Instagram.
  2. Write 3 blog posts a week for the entire year.
  3. Double my page views.
  4. Lose 25 pounds because that’s how much I gained in 2015 (yikes!).  I will do this by going to the gym 3 days a week and running at least twice a week.
  5. Run 2 half marathons.  One is already in the works for February.
  6. Focus on eating a 90% vegan diet.
  7. Spend more quality time with my girls.
  8. Spend less time on my phone doing pointless crap.
  9. Go to church twice a month.
  10. Be more patient with my children.

I have found that a lot of these cross over.  If I strive to work a little bit on each one then all areas of my life will come together.  If I focus on eating healthy and running more, I will be more patient.  Being more patient keeps me off my phone, which in turn allows me to focus more on the important things like my girls and my blog.  The last two years were amazing, but extremely stressful and I just need to find the happy healthy me again.  It has to be done now or I fear I will be stuck in this place forever.  I would love to hear your New Years resolutions and lets work together to stick to them.
