5 Easy And Beautiful Braids

Spread the love

Hi yall!! My name is Courtney and I blog over at Wonderfully Wolf! To tell you a little bit about myself, I am a born and bred southerner from North Carolina (now living in Florida), I’m a newlywed, and I’m obsessed with all things beauty. Needless to say, I was so excited when Megan asked me to be a guest writer here on Fashionista Momma.

About a year ago, I found myself in a hair rut. I’m sure we’ve all been there, the kind of rut where your hair is either down, flat, and lifeless or it’s up in a messy bun (and not the cute kind). I needed a new arsenal of hair styles and I needed them fast. So, with some help from Pinterest and YouTube, I learned how to do a variety of hairstyles that are easy, cute, and simple and I want to share a few with you!

Today I’m going to be showing you how to do 5 easy and beautiful braids for those days that you just don’t have time to think about what to do with your hair.

1. French Braid

This first style is one that I go-to at least once a week. It is so effortless but yet it gets SO many compliments! If you don’t know how to do a French braid, here’s a quick tutorial to show you just how easy it is.

Simple right?? I love doing this braid one days I need to wash my hair but I don’t have time. Just add in a little baby powder or dry shampoo and no one will notice your hair is on day 5!

2. Fishtail braid

This next braid is one that has just recently become more popular and is all over Pinterest! Though it definitely takes a little bit more time, once you get the hang of it, a fishtail braid is perfect for those looking to achieve the messy and beachy braid.

I like to keep my hair parted when doing a fishtail and I also start it about halfway down my hair or right at the top of my neck

Once you master these two basic braids, it’s easy to style them in different ways for different looks!

3. Half-up Fishtail

I love wearing a fishtail in a half up pony! This look is sooo simple!

A little tip to make it more “lived in” and relaxed, is to pull a part the braid before tying off the ends. To do this, simply tug on each loop of the braid on both sides. The messier, the better in my opinion! This style can be worn with a regular braid as well!

4. Braided Bangs

I love braiding back my bags whenever they’re a little flat and they don’t have much volume.

SO easy and a quick way to add a little spice to your hairstyle!

5. Side Braids

The last braid is one of my favorites! It’s how I did my hair for my engagement pictures and I absolutely loved it. It’s great for the day when you want your hair down but you also don’t want it in your face (this was a style I often wore to college football games!).

I like to go through and “fluff” the hair above the braid to give it more volume by pulling it up slightly with a teasing comb!

I hope you enjoy these new hairstyles and you give them a try the next time you’re in a hurry! Be sure to tag myself and Megan in any hair pictures you snap as well!

XOXO,

Courtney Wolf
