After Workout Routine

Hi Lovelies.  If you keep up with the blog, you know I have gone back to teaching yoga.  This includes hot yoga and being in the gym a lot.  Fashion blogging has actually become difficult because most days I am back to wearing workout clothes most days.  As much as I have protested the athleisure style as part of my personal style.

It’s becoming a big part of my life.  So, you will be seeing more athleisure posts in the future, I think.  Today, I want to talk about my after workout routine.  As a runner, hot yoga practitioner and regular gym attendee, my hair and skin see a lot of sweat, tight fitting clothing and crazy schedules.  Most days I’m running out of the hot yoga studio with wet hair to pick up my daughter from school.  I don’t have time for food or a lot of care. With these easy tips you can take care of your body, tummy and skin.

Get Clean & Balanced

The after workout routine that's perfect to keep your skin healthy and glowing. - The Fashionista Momma

Always shower after your workouts.  Sweating is a way for your body to detox.  It is so important to get clean.  With Mother Dirt you can balance your skin’s pH with they Cleanser, Shampoo, Moisturizer and AO+ Mist.  These products can balance oil production, improve hydration and also help to reduce any body odor issues you might have.

I personally have seen a huge improvement with some of my personal issues.  I sweat a lot and have issues with oil production on my scalp.  Mother Dirt products have helped me alleviate these issues.  The AO+ Mist has helped me with my overactive sweat glands, which as a fashion blogger is a huge help.  I tend to avoid sleeves and light colored clothing at big events because I will end up with sweat stains.  Just a few short days with the mist and I have already noticed improvements.  The Shampoo helped me with the oil production in my scalp.

Eat

If you are like me, eating can be the tricky one.  I like having meal replacement shakes, or bars in my car or purse.  This helps me get the protein and carbs in after a big workout.  If you have time try to get a complex carb and protein in after your workout.  I suggest a nutrient dense veggie and protein source.  If I am going for a food it’s usually a hard boiled egg, or small salad with a veggie burger.  I am an ovo-vegetarian.  Which means I only eat eggs with an all vegetarian diet.  I would go full vegan, but I have found that eggs are great way for me to get all of the amino acids that I need in one easy source.

Hydrate

4 reasons you need water when practicing yoga and exercising. - The Fashionista Momma

Water is especially important after hot yoga.  You need to rehydrate and continue the detox process by drinking lots of water.  Regardless, water is such a big part of your bodily functions.  You need to make sure you are getting plenty of water.  Hydration is key to your recovery process.

Clothing

After you’ve showered, you obviously want to change your clothes.  Go for cotton underwear and loose fitting clothing. After being in tight pants, your body needs to breathe.  Plus, if you have been sweating a lot, you could have that afterwork sweat.  If you are a gym rat or a regular hot yoga practitioner, then you know exactly what I am talking about.

Check out Mother Dirt to get your perfectly balanced skin.

I think you look super fashionable! I wish I could adhere to an ovo-vegetarian lifestyle because I am not a big fan of meats. #client

LOL I’m not super strict. We will eat meat if it is served at an event and things like that. At home though we don’t cook meat. xo ~ Megan

I’ve tried the Mother Dirt products too and I really liked them a lot. My hubby thinks it’s weird that some of it is in the fridge but I think it’s so cool. The science really makes sense.

Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyla Rare opportunity of an empty spot inside @disneyland and just wishing we could get a reservation to see the new Toontown
SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? M SoCal residents have you ever visited a mission? Mission ⛪
Last week we visited our 3rd mission. This is taking it back to @oldmissionsb which we loved. My daughter was obsessed with learning about Karana from “Island of the Blue Dolphin” If your child is in 4th grade take them to check out a few missions. It’s a part of their curriculum and they can learn so much from the way the Spanish operated here in SoCal in the late 1700’s-1800’s. Of course not every detail of this settlement was positive, but it’s a great opportunity to have discussions and educate your children about the indigenous people and the Spanish settlers.
AND don’t forget 4th graders can get the national parks pass with Every Kid Outdoors. Link in stories.
